Fran: I live on a narrow boat on the Leeds Liverpool canal in Bramley and I'm a founder member of LILAC because I've been involved since Jan 2008. I'm a supply teacher but I only work in the winter because who wants to work in the summer? Also I don't do much supply at all because I'm so busy doing LILAC work . . . which has been a steep learning curve for me but well worth the effort!Property size: Top floor, 1 bed flat, with balcony
Why I want to live in LILAC: LILAC is the best thing since sliced bread as far as I'm concerned. Not only will we be living lightly on the earth but we will have the best of both worlds . . . communal gardens, space and activities as well as privacy, to be grumpy,or just do my own thing like watch rubbish tv! And to cap it all I'll be able to afford it.
Other comments: Being part of the process has been interesting, frustrating and excellent. It's great to make new friends who will also be neighbours with shared values and ideas. Can't wait to be on the site getting stuck in to making it a reality and cooking together to enjoy our first communal meal.
