liz2My favourite roles are as a grandma, mother, friend, gardener and counsellor.  I have raised a family and have 2 lovely grandsons as well as a son and daughter.  I have worked in the community, voluntary and  statutory sector for many years as a teacher and a counsellor, and am winding down towards retirement.  Raised in Sussex, I have lived in Yorkshire since I was 18 and have been in Wakefield for years and years where I have a great group of friends, who will still be part of my life.

I joined Lilac in March 2011.

I will live in a 2 bed flat – with a spare room to work from.

It is time for a change and Lilac offers many of the things I hold dear.  I lived in shared houses until my daughter was 4, and found it a great way for adults and children to share all kinds of energy and resources.   I dreamt of living in a straw bale house in a sustainable community for the last 20 years.  I couldn’t believe my luck when I found there was such a scheme in Leeds.  I feel very grateful to those who have put in so much time and careful planning into Lilac and look forward to playing my part in the future .

The best things about living in Lilac will be having a modern warm flat that I can afford, with a balcony to sit on the sun and a garden close by, and friends to meet and join with as I walk about and share meals in our lovely common house.
